Chelsea XI vs Tottenham: Confirmed team news for today

Axel Disasi and Thiago Silva have both been added to Chelsea's lengthy injury list in advance of their match against Tottenham tonight. Disasi is out for an undisclosed cause, and Silva was hurt in the groyne during the 2-2 tie with Aston Villa.

With just five games left in the season, the Brazilian, who revealed on Monday that he would be leaving Chelsea in the summer, may have played his last game for the team.

Although Christopher Nkunku and Levi Colwill are back fully training, Mauricio Pochettino has stated that the London derby between Spurs and Chelsea will happen too soon.

Among the injured players remaining out are Reece James, Malo Gusto, Enzo Fernandez, Lesley Ugochukwu, Ben Chilwell, Romeo Lavia, Robert Sanchez, and Wesley Fofana. Pochettino has a small pool of alternatives, with just nine senior outfield players available.

Alfie Gilchrist will so take over for the injured Silva in a back four that also includes Marc Cucurella, Trevoh Chalobah, and Benoit Badiashile. As the custodian, Djordje Petrovic will remain in place.

Moises Caicedo and Conor Gallagher, Chelsea's only available midfield tandem, will act as a double pivot. With Nicolas Jackson, Mykhailo Mudryk, Cole Palmer, and Noni Madueke as their attacking front four, they are expected to start strong.

Chelsea put on a strong second half display at Villa Park, and they will be hoping to increase their chances of making it to Europe by reproducing that performance for the entire ninety minutes.

Since Cesare Casadei is a rookie in his senior professional season, he is probably the most seasoned player on the bench.

Chelsea XI prediction (4-2-3-1): Madueke, Palmer, Mudryk; Jackson; Petrovic; Gilchrist, Chalobah, Badiashile, Cucurella; Caicedo, Gallagher;

Injuries: Silva, Disasi, James, Sanchez, Ugochukwu, Fernandez, Chukwuemeka, Sterling, Chilwell, Gusto, Fofana, Lavia, Colwill, Nkunku
